In 2004-2005, I was in high school in France and I was 14.
During the year, we’ve been asked to participate to the CNRD (National Contest of Resistance and Deportation) initiated by the National Confederation of Volontaires and Resistants in order to perpetuate among young French students the memory of the sufferings and sacrifices of the resistance fighters.
We’ve studied during one year with Lisa Echalier, Quentin Ramelet and Candice Duillon to deliver the most complete research on the theme “Liberation of camps and discovery of the concentration camp universe: crime against humanity and genocide.“
I will always remember the horrors that i saw doing this researches. I realized that the most important things regarding what happened is the MEMORY. Not necessarily about one unique specific period of our history, but about all the past genocides and humanity crimes that happened. Negationism must be eradicate to protect human rights.
At the end, we’ve been honored by the Ministry of Education. We had the privilege to visit the only french concentration camp Natzweiler-Struthof based in Alsace and the European Parlement in Strasbourg.
